Single Fin Seduction

The Single Fin , where it all began . Dam they look sexy , simple functional art without all the clutter of those extra fins in the way .

However I have always found them hard too ride . Slow and somewhat tracky , in essence kind of boring and unpredictable . Lack the drive and spark of a twin fin and the reliability of a thruster .

So like why bother making them ? 

Some surfers dig them almost religiously , which is cool . How we are looking back in design to move forward and make better surfboards . Aesthetic pleasing but way more user friendly to ride , easy to paddle and surf , thats my goal at Formula Energy . 

This is the first cab of the rank for a single fin design in 2025  . I tried to implement all the design aspects of what will make a board go fast and most importantly go like a good single fin .

• Flat rocker , especially low entry or nose rocker.
• Slightly wider point forward .
• Tight narrow tail pod  Pin Tail (thats more an aesthetic for more appealing outline).
• Performance style of rail with plenty hard edge for speed baby !
• Bottom shape , single concave into V with the V running into a twin channel bottom . Its all about speed . 

The Colour work is a what we call a Racing Green in a resin tint with cut laps and 3/4 deck patch and 1/4 bottom patch over the fin box . 

Anyway I hope you like it ? This Single Fin is currently in research and development mode but I thought  I would give you a taste of what to expect moving forward into 2025 . Cheers .
