The Beak nose surfboard can be somewhat polarising to a lot of surfers . Whats the reason to add all this foam up front ?
After all it is a freaky bit of foam bulging from the nose and often interrupting the lovely aesthetic nose rocker foil and nice outline of a surfboard .
Taking a deeper look at the features of the Beak Nose Surfboard design and what benefits it brings to a certain type of surfboard .
Its an aesthetic add on which simpler looks cool and different to a conventional board .
It allows you to have more foam "forward" remember foam is your friend. This equates to more paddle power .
The extra thickness really helps surfers who like to push over the front foot for extra drive by giving you floatation . Stopping the board from "catching" and or nose diving . This is an important point and somewhat over looked because all your drive and go forward come from your front foot , hence the more confidence you can have leaning forward is a must for maintaining down the line speed .
We make a couple of different models with Beak Noses , in particular the Mid Length / MLB is our most popular surfboard in the range . Then the Lil Beak and the MLT and of course the single fin Mid Strength model .
Then the Lil Beak , a performance twin fin . With a subtle smaller beak nose slight more nose rocker than an-average twinny . Its designed to be surfed in good waves .
