This is a USC Mutant with a smoking hot jet black bottom resin tint .

Black surfboards look really cool . With black artwork we have a couple of different options with the application , most popular is the traditional "foam spray" where the foam blank is painted or sprayed with paint .

Or a "resin tint" . Whereby in the glassing or laminating process pigment or tint is added to the resin, then the board is "glassed" as normal with the coloured resin .

A few changes in the process must be made , it  just depends on what design and what parts of the board you want the coloured resin.It is a little bit more involving and requires a skilled experienced hand !

Although the process takes longer , its worth the wait !

Nature Calls

Even seen those little pilot fish that swim next to the heads of big shark species like Great Whites , Tigers etc . 

Have you ever wondered why the shark just doesn't turn round and chomp on that little morsel ?

The colouring of the fish acts like camouflage , preventing the shark from identifying the fish as prey . Sharks see in black and white according to recent research by Professor Shaun Collin and Dr Nathan Hart at the University of Western Australia's Oceans Institute. Hamish Jolly has been doing some solid research on shark's vision and the way there identify food . Normally the Blend comes with a squash tail but Pete requested a swallow tail as his personal preference.

This is actually's Pete second Blend  . He requested we copy the original but add a tad more volume but keep the same dimensions.

Original Blend Prototype that ended up travelling many miles with Pete ..

The artwork was Pete's idea and its based of an old English interior designer called William Morris who designed hand printed wallpaper in the 1860's , this one is called SEAWEED and you can check it now in the art section and order it on your next surfboard .
