With summer just around the corner here in Australia , here is some information that may change the way you look at sunscreen .
We all use copious amounts of zinc and sunscreen , do we take any notice of the ingredients ? Some chemicals we rub onto are skin are actually harmful to ourselves and the oceans and reefs.
Oxybenzone, do you know what that is ? Well read on to learn what it is and how it could be doing you harm
We've all learned the hard way that spending too much time in the sun can create some pretty traumatizing effects. While researching for the 2013 sunscreen guide, The Environmental Working Group found a lot of surprising, and somewhat disheartening, information. Only 25% of sunscreen products on the market offer strong protection with limited safety concerns. Most sunscreens do not filter skin-damaging rays safely or effectively. Because FDA standards in America are not the strongest, more than half of the sunscreen products sold in the US could not be sold in Europe. Some chemical sunscreens contain Endocrine disruptors, which can cause the abnormal development of fetuses and possibly even lead to prostate cancer. Disturbed? Us too…

Brent Savy Savage just returned from the Maldives and scored all-time week of waves.
His Quiver was his go to Savage model for the pumping days .
And the super popular ALL-ROUNDER USC BLEND. 5'8 , Featured here with a purple fade rail spray.
Savy was also packing this new prototype model , 5'6 double flyer squash tail , still under wraps with no official naming yet !. He has been testing it back home and loving the quad set up ! Its super fast and surprising a lot of crew who rode it,for the hold and drive it has , converting a lot of die-hard thruster surfers over to the dark side of alternate quad fins !
Thumbs up with this new plan-shape .We will keep you posted on a release date .
USC Blend custom for Nick, who stands around 6ft tall and weighs in between 92 to 95 kg (200 pounds).
Dimensions are 6'2 by 19 1/2 by 2 5/8 , 34 litres of blend goodness, right there.
Nick's reggae music roots inspired him to get Rastafarian Futures boxes colorway.
Brent "The Savy" Savage has been scoring some fun uncrowded waves in the Maldives.
Brent comments:
Waves have been 6ft + and crazy for 2 days. SO many Barrels. I have mainly been riding my new “SAVAGE” model but today I rode the Blend as a 4 fin in some solid 6ft waves and it was amazing how much bite and hold it had. An amazing all rounder.

Jack’s new custom USC Nemo
6”1 by 21 by 2 7/8 , 39 litres
Rounded pin , custom to Jack’s requirements .
We added more wide through the tail pod and moved away from the traditional swallow set up into a round pin .
The versatility of a good paddler with plenty of width and foam under the chest which the Nemo is known for , but the tail shape as a rounded pin to give a little more hold through turns in bigger surf .
With the evolved cleaner deck lines and even foam distribution , a true custom surfboard !
The Sacred Geometrcal art “THE FLOWER OF LIFE” on the deck.
And Coffee Resin Tint on the bottom.
For a couple of tropical weightless drops ! Nice work Jack !
