Smoking USC Alien custom surfboard for Joao . This is the one of the most popular boards we have created so far. The key features of this "High performance fish" , with wide point forward , for easy paddling , but with a tight performance based tail-pod for performance based surfing in the pocket . Single into double concaves with a medium rail volume .

Dimensions on this custom model are 5'9 by 19 5/8 by 2 5/16 litres are 26.81.

Board Comparison

Hybrid Fishes or small wave surfboards are all the rage at the moment  . Lets compare two of our most popular models . The Fuzz Nutz and the evergreen revamped Alien .

The Fuzz Nutz firstly has an old school Twin fin placement which is actually how originally quads came into existence. Back in the day ! It gives you option of riding as a quad or twin fin , depending on conditions .

The Fuzz Nutz has a lot of drive , a real lot , its extremely fast.
The deck is flat with a chime rail or bevelled . The flat deck line makes this board user friendly with a lot of hidden foam , then with the exaggerated rail shape still allows you to bury it !
Being a small wave board it has a flat rocker especially under the front foot ... The bottom shape single into double with a spiral V.

The Alien is designed in a five fin cluster , based of a conventional thruster fin placement with the added quad option . You can ride as a quad or a thruster again depending on conditions . The deck is slightly domed into a medium volume rail .
Flat entry rocker with the wide point forward allow you to ride this board short but paddle into waves easy and with confidence . The bottom shape is single into double concave giving the most consistent performance to suit all round conditions . This board is a real hybrid as some guys ride it as a groveller and other surfers swear buy it as travel board , perfect in small clean waves !

One way understand the difference if we take the same dimensions 5'10 by 19 3/4 by 2 1/2 , The Alien litres are 29.17 , then the Fuzz Nutz same dimensions 31.31 over an extra litre . Of course you have to take into consideration all the other characteristic like plan-shape, rocker design , nose and tail widths and rail volumes ,  of each model but you definitely have are two super fun hybrid surfboards !

Grey Blend

USC Blend 5'8 by 19 1/4 by 2 1/4 , with a Grey Foam spray . Great board designed for beach breaks waist to shoulder high and in average to good quality waves. This model can really enhance your quiver , because The Blend can be surfed in a wide variety of conditions .

 

The Blend has a modern performance outline with a pronounced hip in the tail allowing for quick release through turns . Pivot and release with amazing ‘”pop”"out of your turns.

Order approximately 2 to 3 inches shorter than your normal performance go-to board.

This custom has a simple grey foam spray on the deck, nice little touch !

When sending and shipping surfboards around the world we all want the cheapest and best freight deal available . We want it and know you the guys and girls who ride our boards want it .Freight or logistics is all based on volume . So how do you get a good and fair freight deal ? 

(Single Surfboard box, can be more economical than you think).

Surfboards although being lightweight are priced by freight companies on the box dimensions ,cube sizes . That is the length by height by width . In other words how much room the "carton" takes up in the belly of the aeroplane ....

Surfboards being long ,awkward and fragile can get expensive when shipping to certain destinations ..

We have two popular options . Single Surfboard Carton (featured above) , its designed for one surfboard but sometimes you can fit two smaller boards in this box , Prices start from $95 and go up to $395 just depends on the destination .

This Black Hemp beauty is an USC Alien with a little twist !

Dimensions are 5'10 by 19 3/4 by 2 3/8 . Custom with a Black Hemp deck and a slighter wider USC carbon rails infused with a blue composite . 

Its bullet proof surfboard , made to last but most important built to perform in a wide range of conditions !

Learn more about the Carbon in previous Blog posts , but it is slighter wider blue infused high quality carbon rail "tape" or parabolic rail. Designed primarily to enhance the performance of the surfboard , as the carbon has a superior memory flex to your traditional wooden stringer standard blank.

Below is our latest combination of Black Hemp / Lyocell material on the deck combined with the USC Carbon rail , parabolic lay-up . 

The Carbon is a slightly wider version than normal which is infused with a blue tint , its extra width and combination with the Organic Hemp material makes this one of the strongest most durable high performance surfboards available .

Heavy footed surfers or guys who have had a bad run with snapping or creasing boards should definitely take a good look at this combinations of materials.

Of course all surfboards can snap or crease , we don't claim or guarantee to build the indestructible surfboard , that would be ludicrous but we can go off history and many of our customers have had Formula Energy board last in the quiver for an average of double your standard performance shortboard , many longer .

Convert Me

 

USC Convert custom with a Light Grey Foam Spray . Dimensions are 5'6 by 19 1/2 by 2 1/4 . Litres are 25.60 litres .

Small wave speed machine , ride as a quad which gives incredible speed , drive and hold.  

Or mix it with a thruster set up , and get more release and pivot out of your turns . 

This is the model that gets you psyched for small gutless waves ! Whilst your mates are umming and arghing in the car park on surfing or not , when the waves are looking pretty dire . You will be straight out there on the Convert , flowing over dead sections with speed to burn with this pointy nose model cleverly disguising plenty foam throughout the plan shape , low entry rocker with little tail kick and double flyer squash , means you will be "bleeding off" speed whilst other surfers are bogging and bouncing through flat sections, or 'hey' probably not even out there !

Thats Gold

 If you want something unique then we can deliver . This is the ultimate "bling" surfboard 

This is a Golden Fuzz Nutz custom Gold Resin Tint !

The image on a computer screen does not do it justice ! In real life this surfboard looks amazing .

The whole process was really involving to get a true metallic gold finish mixing various gold pigments to the resin and adding glitter coat we were able to make this board shimmer like "gold" !

Resin Tints do take a little longer and require experienced laminators but the benefits are you get a true work of art !

 Wall-hanger quality that has to be surfed ! Lauded by others as you strut down the beach with a bit of surfboard bling under your arm !

 

Dimension are 5'7 by 19 3/4 by 2 3/8 , 28.33 litres.

The Fuzz Nutz has a traditional Quad fin set up , based of old school theories .

It is an extremely fast board , with lots of drive which will deliver you into sections with speed to burn . you should Ride it little shorter and little wider than your normal performance surfboard .

Black Hemp

Black Hemp on this USC Alien Step-up. It very black and has unique stealth "look".

We laminated a natural hemp cloth into the deck of this USC Alien Step-Up.
Adding durability, performance and overall good looks .
Enhancing the parabolic carbon rails lively flex pattern and superior memory .

Dimensions are 6'4 by 20 1/4 by 2 3/4 , 36 litres custom order for Bruno . Who wanted  bigger board with plenty of foam.

Its Black , "very black" the composite Hemp / Lyocell material designed to look good add durability to the deck of your board and add an improved flex pattern for performance surfing.

This new hemp version is the lightest material in the hemp range , therefore by adding it to the deck of your board in the USC range , the parabolic carbon rail compliments the "flex" and spring without dampening the drive and speed of the board, keeping it lovely for longer and that all important new board feeling .

The look is a very dark opaque deck colour but once the board hits the water , the material looks amazing , the fibers come alive with a silver / platinum three dimensional effect highlighted once the deck is submerged in water . 

The added layer of organic hemp material does make your board marginally heavier about 200 grams including the extra resin used to laminate it but the benefits of the hemp are outstanding , by using less traditional cloth but still getting a durable strong deck and long lasting surfboard .

And your get a genuine eco friendly material that will make your board last longer and wear better in the long run , while keeping that new board feeling .

 So what is Lyocell / Tencel  ?

Its made from the natural cellulose found in wood pulp. The fiber is economical in its use of energy and natural resources, and is fully biodegradable. Tencel is made from cellulose in wood pulp, which is harvested from tree-farmed trees.
