Black Hemp

Black Hemp on this USC Alien Step-up. It very black and has unique stealth "look".

We laminated a natural hemp cloth into the deck of this USC Alien Step-Up.
Adding durability, performance and overall good looks .
Enhancing the parabolic carbon rails lively flex pattern and superior memory .

Dimensions are 6'4 by 20 1/4 by 2 3/4 , 36 litres custom order for Bruno . Who wanted  bigger board with plenty of foam.

Its Black , "very black" the composite Hemp / Lyocell material designed to look good add durability to the deck of your board and add an improved flex pattern for performance surfing.

This new hemp version is the lightest material in the hemp range , therefore by adding it to the deck of your board in the USC range , the parabolic carbon rail compliments the "flex" and spring without dampening the drive and speed of the board, keeping it lovely for longer and that all important new board feeling .

The look is a very dark opaque deck colour but once the board hits the water , the material looks amazing , the fibers come alive with a silver / platinum three dimensional effect highlighted once the deck is submerged in water . 

The added layer of organic hemp material does make your board marginally heavier about 200 grams including the extra resin used to laminate it but the benefits of the hemp are outstanding , by using less traditional cloth but still getting a durable strong deck and long lasting surfboard .

And your get a genuine eco friendly material that will make your board last longer and wear better in the long run , while keeping that new board feeling .

 So what is Lyocell / Tencel  ?

Its made from the natural cellulose found in wood pulp. The fiber is economical in its use of energy and natural resources, and is fully biodegradable. Tencel is made from cellulose in wood pulp, which is harvested from tree-farmed trees.

Eco Bubble Wrap

Packing surfboards, shipping all over the world , involves expert packing skills using custom cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and extra cardboard protection for nose , tails and rails ..Surfboards are fragile awkward products that need special attention .

But with these by-products you create a fair bit of waste and filling the rubbish bin with no biodegradable is not a good thing as we all know .

Now we have sourced an eco friendly version of Bubble Wrap. The Bubble Wrap is made in factory which has ISO support , acknowledged worldwide.

Every little bit helps !  At Formula Energy we also raid the "dumpster" bin for discarded cardboard when packing our surfboards .. Essential recycling rubbish destined for the "tip" .

Try hang onto the Bubble Wrap for your next surf travel and re-use it, its light weight , great for protecting noses and tails , and you always have one mate who loves popping the little air cells !

Custom magic little USC Mutant bound for Sydney town . The dimensions are 5'8 by 19 3/4 by 2 9/16th , litres 29.46 . 

Deck art is Red Black Inverted Flower of Life .

The Courier collected this surfboard on Tuesday and it was delivered to Sydney CBD on Friday. Door to Door service Three days by road Gold Coast to Sydney is not bad at all .

A little tip regarding freight .

The best way to receive your board quicker is to have it delivered to a business address between 9am and 5pm . Freight companies much prefer dealing with a business than a residential address. Also making sure someone can sign for it and the receivers end !

Brand spanking new custom USC Blend for Carlin . Who stands around 6'1 and 85 kgs (187 pounds ) , and is fighting fit ..

Dimensions are , 5'11 by 19 3/4 by 2 9/16 , 30 litres . Best all round standard short board in the range , incredibly versatile , will suit most day to day surf conditions . Order a little shorter than your high performance short board and add little more width , same thickness or add 1/16th to 1/8th  to add a tad more volume.

Merry Christmas

 Well if you woke up to this under the Christmas Tree this morning , you must have been well behaved this year because Santa delivered ! 

If you were not so lucky then , there is always time to order a new board in 2017 . We will be back into full swing by January 9th .

Summer All Rounder

Looking for a short board that has the dna performance of a modern shortboard but the "fish" like qualities which makes surfing fun and easy !

Then the Blend ticks all those boxes ! Available in both constructions, the Premium Range and the USC Parabolic Carbon Rails model .

 This traditional short board has the outline of a modern performance style pointy nose surfboard , but with extra width in the nose and tail pods and flatter rocker. Medium to Low style rail volume . These forgiving attributes makes this the perfect addition to the quiver for guys that want a step down to grovel with but do not want to ride a fat fish !

What you have is instant speed with a surfboard that works from really bad waves but will handle in good surf as well .

Great travel board when heading to perhaps off-season destinations and looking at waves in the 2ft to 4ft range ..
